For Brian Dombkowski, success is about making sure the client always comes first. It’s about ownership, partnership, and building something that is shared, surrounded by the best of the best. He understands what is important to our clients because that’s what is important to him, too.

Brian joined Sand Hill as our Chief Investment Officer in 2010, bringing expertise garnered from managing institutional portfolios for 25 years. His experience in research and equity analytics, actively managing a multi-billion dollar fund for high net worth individuals, family offices, and institutional investors, and being responsible for all aspects of portfolio management, marketing, client service and management prepared him perfectly for all of the hats he wears as Chief Executive Officer here at Sand Hill.

Since becoming the firm’s CEO in 2013, Brian has helped grow the business and expand our service offerings to deliver great outcomes for our clients. As CEO, Brian provides overall strategic direction and leadership for our investment management, wealth management, and operations groups. He also serves as Chair of Sand Hill’s Executive Committee, the governance entity charged with setting the firm’s long-term strategic course. After spending much of his career as a front-line portfolio manager, he now enjoys the operational and strategic aspects of running a company and the uniquely entrepreneurial spirit and expertise that the Sand Hill team brings to wealth management planning.

A dedicated husband and father, Brian loves spending time with his wife and two daughters. He is also an aspiring pianist, happily (and humbly) working his way through all the classics he’s always wanted to play. As the current Mayor of Woodside, California, he is actively involved in the local community. Brian brings this same energy and dedication to his work at Sand Hill, where he spends every day making sure each client feels that Sand Hill is a true partner invested in their success.
